Stretch film and pallet wrap for commercial packaging
Ensure the security of palletized goods, cartons, and shipments with commercial-grade stretch film and pallet wrap from Shunde Tape. Our product range includes hand-applied stretch film, machine-applied stretch film, pre-stretched film, and colored pallet wrap—ideal for warehouses, distribution centers, moving companies, and transport businesses.
We offer stretch film in a variety of colors—including clear, black, blue, green, red, orange, white, and yellow—available in a wide range of sizes and thicknesses. These films provide reliable load stability and puncture resistance during storage and transit, while effectively protecting goods against dust, dirt, and minor moisture.
Stretch film for palletizing, bundling, and protecting warehouse goods
Stretch film is a flexible plastic film used to wrap palletized cartons, bundle products, and protect merchandise during storage and transportation. As it is applied, the film stretches and uses its inherent cling to bond layers securely together, eliminating the need for additional packaging tape or adhesives.
Shunde Tape offers a comprehensive selection of hand-applied and machine-applied stretch films, colored pallet wraps, bundling films, ventilated (breathable) stretch films, and manual dispensers. These solutions are designed for warehouses, manufacturers, logistics centers, moving companies, distributors, and freight carriers.
Available products include 18-inch x 1,000-foot (85-gauge) hand-applied film rolls, 20-inch x 5,000-foot (80-gauge) machine-applied film rolls, compact 3-inch and 5-inch bundling films, colored stretch films, and manual application tools.
Choosing the right stretch film depends on factors such as load weight, pallet dimensions, carton strength, the presence of sharp edges, shipping conditions, the level of opacity required, and whether the film will be applied manually or by machine. Shunde Tape offers stretch film products.
| Film Type | Available Format | Best Applications |

What is stretch film?
Stretch film—also known as stretch wrap or pallet wrap—is a flexible polyethylene film designed to be stretched around cartons, products, and palletized goods.
As the film is stretched, it generates tension that helps pull the items together. Multiple overlapping layers create a seal, which helps minimize shifting during warehouse handling and transportation.
Stretch film adheres to goods through its own cling properties rather than via a permanent adhesive. This allows the wrap to be removed without leaving behind the sticky residue often associated with adhesive tapes.
It is important to note that stretch film is not a substitute for proper pallets, sturdy cartons, internal cushioning materials, or load-rated strapping.
Benefits of stretch film
1. Load containment
Stretch film secures cartons and products together, helping to minimize their movement on the pallet surface.
2. Protection against dust and dirt
The overlapping layers form a barrier that helps keep products clean during warehouse storage and transit.
3. Limited moisture resistance
While the plastic film can protect against incidental splashes and minor dampness, a pallet that is not fully enclosed is not waterproof.
4. Product visibility
Clear stretch film allows personnel to identify items and scan labels without needing to remove the wrap.
5. Load concealment
Black or opaque colored films can reduce the visibility of valuable or sensitive products.
6. Warehouse identification
Colored films can be used to distinguish between different routes, departments, inventory categories, or shipment statuses.
7. Reduce reliance on adhesive tape
This film is self-adhering, allowing products to be bundled together without the need to apply adhesives directly onto the goods.
Best practices for stretch film
1. Inspect the pallet and the load before wrapping.
2. Use "hand film" (manual stretch wrap) only for manual wrapping applications.
3. Use the film only with compatible equipment.
4. Match the film’s specifications and performance characteristics to the load.
5. Secure the film at the base of the pallet.
6. Ensure full overlap between each layer of film.
7. Maintain controlled tension.
8. Protect sharp edges before wrapping.
9. Use corner protectors on fragile cartons.
10. Utilize colored film according to a documented coding system.
11. Keep required labels clearly visible.
12. Use ventilated (breathable) film when air circulation is required.
13. For heavy or high-load shipments, combine the use of stretch film with strapping.
14. Inspect each completed pallet before moving it.
Stretch film safety
1. Keep the area around the pallet clear of obstructions; do not leave boxes, tools, scraps of film, or other warehouse debris in the way.
2. Avoid walking backward during the wrapping process whenever possible. Be mindful of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other personnel nearby.
3. Never place your hands underneath unstable cartons or palletized loads.
4. Use an appropriate safety cutter, and always cut away from your body.
5. Clean up any loose film immediately, as it can pose a risk of slips, trips, or entanglement.
How to store stretch film
1. Store stretch film in a clean, dry, indoor warehouse area, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
2. To protect the edges of the film and the cardboard core, keep the rolls in their original packaging until they are ready for use. 3. Avoid placing heavy objects on boxes of stretch film, as the pressure can cause the rolls and their paper cores to deform.
4. Handle machine-grade film rolls with care; due to their significant weight, dropping them could result in damage.
5. Organize your inventory by film type, width, length, specifications, and color.
